1928 Royal Norfolk Show with the Duke of Gloucester as President of the show.

Local newsreel of: brief shot of the Duke of Gloucester; a parade of prize cattle pass the President's stand; a general view of the ring shows the different breeds of cattle; two of the class winners; a parade of horses, including heavy horses; show jumping; children parade on their ponies; showing dog handling.

Background Information

This is believed to be a local newsreel shown at the Regent Cinema, Prince of Wales Road. (Now the Cannon/ABC.) In its early years, the Norfolk, Show alternated between Norwich and Swaffham. Later the show travelled the county before settling on its purpose built site at Costessey.In 1928, the Norfolk Agricultural Association was celebrating the 21st Anniversary of Edward VII granting it the right to use the prefix 'Royal'. The Duke of Gloucester was the President of the Show.
