We will share unique archive footage, giving you the chance to immerse yourself in the city’s changing landscape of the late twentieth century.
The Changing Face of Norwich shows the extensive redevelopment of Anglia Square in the 1970s, through to construction of the city’s ring road. This was a crucial time in Norwich’s history, when the industries that helped shape city life began to decline and a new millennium approached.
The film will be introduced by EAFA Academic Director, Dr Nick Warr.

About the Norwich Works exhibition
Norwich Works: The Industrial Photography of Walter & Rita Nurnberg is the current major exhibition at Norwich Castle Museum & Art Gallery, co-curated by EAFA’s Academic Director, Dr Nick Warr. The exhibition is a partnership between Norfolk Museums Service, The University of East Anglia, Norfolk Record Office and The East Anglian Film Archive. There is still time to experience this unmissable, landmark exhibition until Sunday 14 April 2024.
The compilation is an exclusive longer cut of “The Changing Face of Norwich”, which was shown earlier this year at Norwich Castle Museum & Art Gallery, as part of the public programme exploring the exhibition.
