Imagining Wellness. Comfort in Company

2021

Student film on the theme of mental health and wellbeing drawing on archive films in the East Anglian Film Archive collection.

'Comfort in Company' was produced by Lisa McLaughlin as part of the 'Imagining Wellness' project, using a selection of films from the East Anglian Film Archive.

Additional Description

During 2021 the East Anglian Film Archive took part in 'Imagining Wellness', an interdisciplinary project involving humanities and psychology academics from the University of East Anglia (UEA), and external partner the Norfolk Record Office (NRO). The wellbeing project was funded by SMaRteN, a national research network funded by UK Research and Innovation, led by King's College London, focusing on student mental health in higher education. In response to a call focusing on what can be achieved through non-clinical universal approaches to student mental health, the project investigated the ways in which student mental health and wellbeing can be supported through creative engagement with cultural and heritage resources relating to mental health, allowing students to reflect imaginatively and collaboratively on their own experiences and wellbeing. One of the outputs of the project was the production of four student films using the EAFA collections.
