At the Wellington Pier in Great Yarmouth, with the beach in the background, the presenter reports to camera in a serious tone until the comedy duo enter the frame. Calamity ensues as Ernie attempts to answer the interviewer’s questions whilst Eric interjects with mischief and one-liners. They discuss the beginnings of their professional partnership, Ernie’s home in Peterborough, and announce their future plans to make a comedy film. They finish the interview with a teaser of the season ahead. Eric begins the joke ‘There were two old men sitting in deckchairs. One turns to the other and says, “It’s nice out today”’. Ernie stops him before he can reveal the cheeky punchline. All will be revealed at the show …
