Interview with the famous singer, appearing at Great Yarmouth

Anglia TV news reporter Bob Wellings interviews Engelbert Humperdinck in his dressing room at Great Yarmouth. Wellings asks, What is it like being very successful? Humperdinck responds that it brings confidence and the ability to buy things. What’s it like to have lots of money? Humperdinck speaks about being cautious when buying a house. He talks about the perseverance of work. Is it lonely at the top? He doesn’t go out to the pub or restaurant. Not because of the public, he is flattered by the attention. Is his life one of “champagne and blondes”? His family is very important to him – keeps it real. He is not interested in commenting on politics and comedy. Humperdinck wants to break into acting and hopes to prove his worth. The year following this interview he hopes to be seen in a film. He doesn’t want to be yet another pop singer that “makes a hash of it”.
