The camera zooms out to reveal the bandstand in Chapelfield Gardens in Norwich. Pans across the gardens to show Anglia TV presenter walking with jazz composer Johnny Dankworth and his wife the jazz singer Cleo Laine. They sit on a bench for the interview. Both Johnny and Cleo claim that small local festivals are extremely important and they think that artists should support the smaller festivals. Cleo explains that they moved from London to Buckinghamshire as she was pregnant. The interviewer asks whether festivals conflict with jazz, to which Cleo responds that festivals are expanding to a broader picture and so any music can be included. Cleo talks about the vast amount of music fields she has been involved in. Johnny says how he writes jazz music more than he plays now, but he wants to play more than he has time for. Interviewer asks them if they feel they have been successful in trying to bridge classical music and jazz, to which Johnny replies that everyone wants to know more about different sorts of music and so it is important pioneer work for the future. He says that if you are a musician you never have a break from music and you have to be prepared to live it out your whole life. He ends the interview by talking about his schedule and rehearsals for the concert.
