An Anglia Television ‘Here and Now’ episode featuring behind the scenes activity and interviews at The Windmill Theatre, Great Yarmouth.

Arriving by classic convertible, the two female passengers, and dancers with the show, are interviewed, revealing their daily routine and rehearsal schedule, pay and conditions and recalling embarrassing anecdotes; debunking any myth that this career choice is a glamorous one. The interview is intercut by dressing room activity of female performer’s costume changes. As the dancers take a break at Great Yarmouth’s beach and pier, off-camera commentary informs of the headline acts that appear during the summer season with publicity stills of Morecambe and Wise, Eve Boswell, Billy Fury and Rolf Harris. At the Windmill Theatre, the director gives feedback on the morning’s dance rehearsal, and the show’s producer argues that despite it being the age of the pop star, the “Old Thyme Music Hall” theme for the production will be equally popular.
