Anglia Television news report and interviews with members of the Black youth led Matta Fancanta Movement.

Members of the Matta Fancanta Youth Movement have taken occupation of the disused Salvation Army Citadel, using it as a base for group members, all black youths, the majority British-born, to take part in recreational activities and religious study. Interview with Lee Bryant, Vice-Chairman of the Movement, and a second member of the group, who both explain their reasons for occupying the hall; mainly arguing a lack of facilities for young black citizens, who feel socially marginalised and alienated when attending other premises. Interview with Sarah Berry, Northampton Community Relations officer, who argues the group’s occupation of the hall will make the public aware of the problems that young black people face, often socially disadvantaged, for example with regard to employment and education. Sarah Berry also hopes the movement will empower other community groups to take similar action.
