'The Go-Between' Film In The Making Stages: An Old Fashioned Cricket Match

1970 , Thornage (Norfolk)

Anglia Television report from the set of 'The Go-Between'.

In the Norfolk village of Thornage, filming is underway on an adaptation of L.P. Hartley's novel 'The Go-Between', about the reminiscences of a teenage boy who spent the long, hot Norfolk summer of 1900 facilitating communication between a pair of forbidden lovers. Large flood lights provide additional illumination on the village green as cast and crew film the cricket match scenes. Whilst action is captured on the pitch, Julie Christie - who stars as Lady Marian Trimingham, one of the lovers - as well as other actors and extras are shown in full period costume. As filming continues, other extras are shown taking a tea break and posing for photographs.
