Anglia TV news item on the subject of Christmas; vox pops with shoppers.
Reporter Chris Young interviews passers-by on the street and asks what Christmas means to them. A lady says that the meaning of Christmas is enjoyment and for family to get together. A man answers that it’s spending lots of money, whilst another lady says that it’s spending time with people that are alone. Interviewer Chris Young asks a lady ‘what does Christmas mean to you?’ She answers that she loves it as there’s something magical about it. Another man carrying a child answers that Christmas is what you make it. He thinks everyone needs something to take out the strain of the year and get ready to face the new one. Chris Young tries to get a girl to stop but she walks past laughing. Chris Young makes funny noises at the camera. A Scotsman says that for him New Year is the most important. He says he spends Christmas with his grandchildren. When asked what Christmas means to her, a lady answers that it’s fun and excitement.
