Anglia Television news footage of the return of herring drifters with damaged and lost nets following severe gales.

At Lowestoft quayside, amongst a fleet of herring drifters, fishermen sort through the fishing nets to see what can be salvaged following a poor trip out at sea in extremely rough weather. Mr C Cartwright, the owner of many of the drifters is interviewed. Mr Cartwright details the regrettable problems encountered owing to the severe gales experienced at sea, he estimates the costs involved to replace the damaged fishing nets. Mr Cartwright also takes the opportunity to praise the drifter crews, who are working with the greatest effort in very difficult conditions.
