Frank Liptrot Who Talks To The Animals
1977 , Letchworth (Hertfordshire)
Cat no. 136534
Anglia Television news item about Frank Liptrot, who enjoys imitating the sounds of musical instruments, domestic pets and farm animals.
Letchworth man Frank Liptrot holds a rather impressive repertoire of farm animal noises. Furthermore, his imitation of a range of orchestral instruments is second-to-none. This unassuming gentleman mimic chats to Anglia Television’s David Henshaw. Whilst in the company of cows and goats Frank imitates the sounds they typically use to communicate. He further imitates the sheep’s baa, and a cat’s meow and purr. He also imitates a number of musical instruments – a Jew’s harp, a trombone, and a cello. Frank sings the popular children’s song and nursery rhyme “Old MacDonald Had a Farm”.
