Silent footage of preparations being made for the beginning of work on building a flyover at the Army and Navy roundabout in Chelmsford, Essex.

Workmen begin to drill into the road leading away from the roundabout. Scenes of the Chelmsford Army and Navy roundabout before the flyover was built. Four suited officials stand by the side of the road looking at their plans for the flyover. Meanwhile the workmen in their overalls start work on the building of the structure.

Background Information

The flyover was ultimately closed in July 2019 due to fears it was no longer structurally safe. It was in use for 40 years and was intended to ease congestion at the roundabout.
