Anglia Television news report on how local bakers and customers are coping with a bread shortage following a nationwide strike by the larger bakeries.

Shoppers stand in a long queue outside The Scotch Bakery, stretching past several neighbouring shops. Queues of people have formed outside a second small bakery in the region. Inside, breadmakers knead dough ready to meet the demand of customers. Anglia reporter David Henshaw interviews a baker who comments on the current high demand for bread products and how his firm is dealing with the issue. A delivery van arrives at the Sunshine Bread depot. An interview with Louis Leech follows outside the factory, accompanied by his fellow workers who are all on strike, explaining the measures that are being taken to ensure elderly and vulnerable citizens will be catered for. People knead dough in a kitchen, learning to make their own bread at a craft centre. David Henshaw interviews elderly residents, asking them how they will cope during the national bread shortage.
