Anglia Television report on the last minute preparations being made before the new Central Library opens in Norwich.
Bob Wellings reports on the history and progress being made to prepare the new Norwich Central Library before it opens on 20th November. Aerial view of the new library building, that stands in the centre of Norwich, and footage of the old library at St. Andrews, its exterior and inside of the loans desk and shelving with people choosing books. Against the backdrop of the City Hall, on a large site in the centre of Norwich, workmen prepare the foundations for the new building. Several months later, with work near completion, Bob Wellings enters the new library for a look around, as final alterations are being made to each section, including the USAAF Memorial library, new lecture theatre, the main lending library, and children’s section. Library Assistants unpack boxes of books for shelving, and a peek at the empty basement show where a number of archive documents will be stored.
