Michael Robson reports on the local feeling regarding the possibility of a return of the Mods and Rockers at Whitsun in Clacton

Michael Robson stands on the Clacton pier, reporting on the implications of the return of the Mods and Rockers, who at Easter caused a lot of damage to the tradespeople of the town. Speaking to Chairman of the Chamber of Trade and Commerce, Mr. Laurie King, he asks how much damage has been suffered so far, and whether he expects more difficulties at Whit. King answers that you cannot put a monetary value on the damage felt, and that the police have put adequate measures in place in order to prevent a similar event occurring. Robson interviews various hoteliers about their experiences, asking their expectations of further trouble and the advice that has been given to other coastal resorts as a result. Mr. Jim Malthouse, a hotelier is also interviewed, saying that he thinks it's no surprise they want to come and enjoy themselves in Clacton, but that they must accept the consequences of their negative actions. Robson finishes the report saying that the Police have assured the locals that they are prepared for any emergency.
