Farming scenes filmed for new Anglia TV programme Farming Diary.

Anglia Television introduction to its new programme Farming Diary. The film does not have sound. Views over farmland fields and hedges are followed by a sequence of shovelling potatoes from a trailer and sorting them using a riddler at the edge of a field. A little girl plays with potatoes to make a potato man. Close up of Mr Slater instructing his men. The potatoes are loaded into sacks. Mr Hartley is filmed standing next to a heavy horse. Scenes show potato harvesting by machine and men and women gathering them by hand into baskets. The baskets of potatoes are then emptied into a horse-drawn cart. Mounds of potatoes emptied from the cart are covered with straw. Friesian cattle stand in a field. Two men approach the camera and speak with Mr Stroud. Tractor work of harrowing and ploughing is shown. A dog sits in the tractor cab. The final sequence shows two tractors used side by side for sugar beet harvesting.
