Playbus

1976 , Peterborough (Cambridgeshire)

Anglia TV reports on Peterborough's Playbus, a new space for ethnic minority families to improve their English language skills.

Not being able to speak the language a society uses can be a barrier to taking an active part in that society. In Peterborough, a multi-coloured converted double decker bus, The Playbus, provides a fun and welcoming space for grown-ups and their children, whose first language is not English, to improve their English language skills through play scenarios. News reporter Chris Young interviews Jill Navid, the Area Advisor for Community Education in Peterborough. Chris Young also interviews Mahebub Ladha from the PCCR, the ‘Peterborough Council for Community Relations’.
