Anglia TV news item; the Electric Palace cinema in Harwich is due to reopen following extensive restoration work.

Birdseye view of Harwich town centre, before zooming in on the exterior of The Electric Palace cinema. Close up of the sign above the door of the cinema. A black and white photograph of the theatre as it was years before is shown, the camera panning over the different people in the picture. Another black and white photograph of the crumbling interior of the cinema. The sign saying ‘The Electric Palace’ is shown before showing the interior of the repaired cinema, zooming in on the seats and screen. Reporter Jeremy Payne interviews Chris Strachan of Harwich Electric Palace Trust, while they both sit in the cinema seats. Chris says that one of the main motivations for restoring the building is that there isn’t a cinema or theatre in Harwich. He sees the future of the building running as a cinema, theatre and also a home for live entertainment. Young boys can be seen moving furniture in the background and a close up of someone cleaning the cinema seats. The projectionist plays a cartoon on the screen followed by close ups of the projection equipment. Jeremy Payne interviews Wally Hart, cinema patron involved in the restoration of the cinema, who talks about the cinema as it was years ago and the way that many short films would be shown before the main show. Exterior of the cinema shown before zooming out to Harwich Town.
