Visit to a County Council bunker and interview about possibility of surviving a nuclear attack

The Norfolk County Council building County Hall in Norwich is shown, followed by a room with empty desks and chairs in it. Close ups of technical equipment and a telephone before panning across the room. Reporter Judy Finnigan and a man working for the local authority walk down an empty corridor talking. He leads Judy Finnigan into the operations room and shows her a nuclear map on the wall. Judy Finnigan states that a lot of people argue that it’s really all a waste of time as if Armageddon is going to happen then there is nothing we can do to stop it and all the plans in the world won’t help. Man answers that nature pushes into man the will to survive and so people will survive this. Finnigan asks about cost and whether it’s a cost that the local authority could do without. Man replies that saving lives is much more important than money. They discuss the survival documents which have been given out to instruct people and companies on how to equip themselves for an attack. He doesn’t think anyone should be alarmed by the problem as shelters are quite easy to make.
