Interview with Northamptonshire cricketers preparing for the match.
On the parched grass of the county ground, Northamptonshire cricket team enjoy practice play in preparation for their big match against Lancashire in the Gillette Cup Final at Lords. After a countdown leader, sports reporter Gerry Harrison talks to team captain Mushtaq Mohammad who reflects on their successful season and the players’ strengths and weaknesses. Players, including David Steele, are seen watching one another in practice. Gerry Harrison interviews bowler John Dye who has previously played at Lords. He talks about the team’s promising young players, Wayne Larkins and Alan Hodgson. John Dye expects that most people will be backing Lancashire but will enjoy the match unless he is ‘murdered’ by the Lancashire batsmen.
