Towards the end of the football match played at the Stade Geoffroy-Guichard in Saint-Étienne on 4 March 1981, the Ipswich Town reserves sit on the benches watching the end of play which is signalled by horns sounding from the noisy crowd. Photographers take pictures as the footballers leave the pitch, and the Ipswich team indicate their pleasure at the outcome. The camera follows the players towards the team area guarded by police where some cheerful swearing is heard from the crowd. In the Ipswich team changing room, Paul Mariner who had scored twice is asked what he enjoyed most, and says they played some smashing football and put four away on a difficult bumpy pitch. Manager Bobby Robson praises the team and says this was possibly one of the most superb attacking displays of football against a very high class team in front of a partisan crowd.
