Three times World Figure Skating Champions,Torvill and Dean interviewed during practice for an ice gala.

At the East of England Ice Rink at Bretton, Peterborough, Jayne Torvill and Christopher Dean are practising on the ice alongside other skaters, in readiness for their appearance in an ice gala. The Anglia Television commentator Stuart Jarrold explains that their next target is the 1984 Winter Olympics, having recently won the World Figure Skating Championships for the third year running. In an interview, Christopher Dean and Jayne Torvill say there has been a lot of press coverage and questioning which has made it difficult for them to concentrate on skating. Jayne says that with these distractions they are sometimes too tired to train. At the Peterborough rink, where they practised before the World Championships, they are on the ice for a couple of hours in the morning and at lunchtime. For the gala they will perform a number of exhibition programmes, and perhaps some new ones. They have a lot of work to do in preparation for the Olympics. The commentator notes that they may then turn professional, but that currently there is no one watching from the seats beside the rink. The pair complete a routine, and leave the ice.
