Arriving at King's College in a Rolls-Royce Silver Cloud, film director Alfred Hitchcock emerges from the back seat and is greeted by university representatives as he prepares to speak at a meeting of the Cambridge University Film Society. In a nearby courtyard, Hitchcock is interviewed by an Anglia Television correspondent, answering questions about his long and distinguished career. Hitchcock discusses the drawing power of his name, the need to thrill audiences, his trademark cameos, the importance of guilt, his notion of the 'theatre of the future', and his recently completed picture, 'Torn Curtain'.
