Girls are hitting the tennis balls against the wall of an indoor court as Sue Mappin, tennis professional and National Women’s Team Manager, coaches them. She encourages them and tells them not to be afraid of asking questions. One child asks her how often she practiced when she was young, to which Sue Mappin replies that used to practice as much as she could. Shot of children playing tennis. Background Information
In 1979 Sue Mappin transitioned from being an international tennis player to become National Women’s Team Manager of the Lawn Tennis Association, a post she continued to occupy for 21 years until 2000.
