Anglia Television interview with Norwich City Football Manager Archie Macaulay ahead of the match against Sunderland in 1961.

In an interview with Anglia Television, Norwich City football manager Archie Macaulay says that Norwich hope to win the match against Sunderland on Saturday even though it will be a hard game. He respects Sunderland but the greater advantage will swing Norwich’s way. When asked if he has any special plans, Macaulay says that while he watched Sunderland play two weeks ago he noticed some weaknesses and so Norwich’s tactic will be to exploit those weaknesses. He refuses to comment on what those weaknesses are at the moment as he might be giving something away. The interviewer claims that many critics and supporters are saying that Norwich weren’t playing their normal game in the Portsmouth match, to which Macaulay answers that it wasn’t prearranged. He says that Norwich doesn’t fear Sunderland but wants them to worry about Norwich. As football is a team game, Macaulay won’t comment on individual players. Summing it up, he confidently expects Norwich to make it through to the next round.
