Prior to the 1979 General Election, Conservative Party leader Margaret Thatcher and husband Denis Thatcher arrive by plane at Ipswich as part of their political campaign tour. Police officers do a thorough safety inspection of a coach, presumably the designated transport for the Conservative Party Leader and her associates. Margaret Thatcher meets prospective voters on the campaign trail, including a farmer with a calf. The Tory Party leader poses for press and photographers holding the calf. With the focus on tight security, police officers keep an eye on events from the surrounding office rooftops.
