Local television magazine feature on the benefits of cycling

The six members of the Burridge family cycle as a group down the country lane towards, past and away from the camera. Presenter Christine Webber talks about the advice of the British Cycling Bureau and their summer campaign ‘It’s Better by Bike.’ Shot of bikes parked along the curb outside of a bicycle shop. Christine Webber, wearing a jumper with ‘Anglia Television’s Round Robin’ printed on it, cycles up the road and parks her bicycle. She walks up to the shop and meets the shopkeeper Les Bryant, the owner of Bryant’s Cycle Shop. They discuss buying used bicycles and the prices involved. Close up of a bicycle before the camera pans up to Bryant talking about the price of a second hand bike. Shows the Burridge family and their friends Jack and Dorothy Matheson cycling down the road while Webber explains how they are all members of the Cyclist’s Touring Club. She says they have been cycling for 20 years. She joins the family on a bike ride down the country lanes and asks them questions about their cycling. Shirely Burridge says that Northumberland was their favourite place to cycle and talks about the health benefits of cycling. She also talks about the safety measures needed and teaching children how to cycle safely. Webber separates from the group and cycles towards the camera, stopping and showing various cycling leaflets. She gives contact details on how to request a leaflet and then rides away to catch up with the Burridge family.
