Interview with Bobby Robson, the new manager at Ipswich Town Football Club

Interview with Bobby Robson, Ipswich Town Football Club Manager, at Portman Road Stadium. Robson says that Ipswich Town are one of the only clubs who have won the First Division championship in the last 12 years and so there is no reason why they couldn’t do it again. There is a shot of the Ipswich Town Football Club stadium sign. Eastern Sport presenter gives viewers a brief history of Ipswich Football Club and then introduces Bobby Robson who has started his role of manager that day. He asks Robson why he chose to take over the club, to which he replies that he’s come here as he’s sure there is a great job to do. Many people have given their impressions on the club. He feels they are entitled to their opinions but Robson believes many of them are untrue as Ipswich are doing infinitely better than Leicester at the moment. He thinks there is a future at Ipswich and he knows the club will allow him to manage. He explains how there is no contract involved in this as he has been assured that there is two years’ work for him at Ipswich Town Football Club. He says how the team is just above water and so have to work on retaining First Division status. Robson and the interviewer talk about the matches coming up and which players are staying on and the transfer list. When asked to sum up his future hopes, Robson says that he hopes the club will prosper and thrive as First Division football with the right manager. The interviewer wishes him luck with his start.
