Christopher Somerville's walk takes him to meet Robin Page, owner of Bird's Farm, and discuss the restoration of the surrounding landscape

Christopher Somerville introduces the walk of a couple of miles he will be taking around Bird's Farm in Barton. He meets the owner Robin Page, accompanied by his lurcher dog Bramble. Founder of the Countryside Restoration Trust, Page promotes the merits of traditional farming, with the good food and wildlife it provides. General views of the surrounding area and wildlife are shown as they walk, as well as Cambridge University's giant radio telescopes nearby. Some of the plants are untouched, others are placed there by the Trust. Various plants are shown and named. Music plays in the background at intervals. Their commentary includes the declining number of turtle doves, the loss of East Anglia's grassland, the damage of fox over-population, and the rise of the otter population.
