New toy from local company is good for exercising.

A group of children demonstrate bouncing and jumping on disco hoppers which are produced by the local company Wembley Sportsmaster in Northampton and Kettering, Northamptonshire. Balancing on a circular platform around an inflated ball they try skipping, jumping over one another, and a slalom around traffic cones. Anglia TV reporter Owen Spencer-Thomas has a go at this latest craze. Keeping count, a boy says he completed 23,000 jumps in 2 hours, and a girl is up to 18,000 jumps. At the Northampton factory, the toys are seen being assembled and inflated. In five weeks they have produced 25,000 disco hoppers and have orders for another 65,000. Mike Askew, Joint Managing Director, says they aim to increase production. The toy originated in the Netherlands and spread in Europe during 1985. This video was made to be shown in a news story on Anglia Television early evening news / magazine programme About Anglia.
