Young patient has been flown from St Vincent for treatment.

A young boy sits up in his hospital bed colouring in pictures in a book. The previous day he was flown to the UK, accompanied by a nurse, from his home island of St Vincent in the West Indies on a British Airways flight paid for by the airline. He is now at Addenbrooke’s Hospital, Cambridge. A Cambridge doctor has been working on St Vincent and recognised that Addenbrooke’s is one of the few places in the world which can offer the specialist treatment which he needs. The boy’s name is given as Ensworth Culzac and he is from a family of poor hill farmers. His treatment will be funded through public donations. The boy speaks to camera saying he feels very happy to come here to let himself get better. Philip Rundle, Hospital Administrator says that tests are being carried out and no decision will be made about treatment or an operation until next week. The reporter was Owen Spencer-Thomas for this video made to be shown in a news story on Anglia Television early evening news / magazine programme About Anglia.
