The Anglia TV data identifies the two women as sisters Kiran Dattani and Usha Dattani. They applied for jobs with the Department of Health and Social Security at Wellingborough but were told that their English qualifications obtained in India were not acceptable. The two women were successful in their appeal to the Industrial Tribunal under the Race Relations Act, and the decision could lead to employers reassessing their recruitment methods. This video was made to be shown in a news story on Anglia Television early evening news / magazine programme About Anglia.
