Company signs exclusive agreement to sell US computer software for printing.

A man and a woman sit at desktop computers entering text on the large keyboards. Text on a computer screen describes the “The Publisher Four System” designed to meet the needs of the publishing industry. A man sits at a desk proofreading the typesetting of the printed text. The woman prepares an InterPro 10RA printing machine and it slowly produces a continuous stream of printed paper. A company in Leighton Buzzard, Bedfordshire has entered a contract to market the American system. Anglia TV reporter Owen Spencer-Thomas interviews Robert Barnes (Bob Barnes), the company representative, who says the system will reduce printing costs making publishing companies more competitive, and potentially enable them to expand their area of work. The reporter suggests that the American hardware will put British people out of work. Mr Barnes replies that jobs are being lost in the printing industry already, but this will expand the range of material which can be published and provide an affordable option for people to set up as publishers on their own. More scenes of the slow printer output. This short video was made to be shown in a news story on Anglia Television early evening news / magazine programme About Anglia.
