Local disorder has resulted in Council promise to find premises for discos and parties.
Following rioting by young people in Cambridge over the previous two weekends, Dr Chris Howard, leader of Cambridge City Council talks to Anglia TV reporter Greg Barnes. He attended an angry meeting and heard that young people feel let down by the City and County Councils, the University and authority in general. Out on the streets they are bored without any regular venues for parties, discos and live entertainment, and they are looking for something to do. Dr Howard says the City Council and other authorities must take shared responsibility to eliminate those causes of disorder and meet the needs of young people. This video was made to be shown in a news story on Anglia Television early evening news / magazine programme About Anglia.
