Children enjoy colourful multi-media inflatables.

In Peterborough, a maze of large inflatable PVC units and tunnels is being installed by the Touring Theatre of Pneumatic Art at Ferry Meadows Country Park as part of an Open Air Festival. The structure is combined with music, dance and mime to create an experience which is enjoyed by children who run and explore through the tunnels of primary coloured plastic. They interact with performers concealed inside foil bags. Anglia TV reporter Greg Barnes says the company was established in 1970 with the sculptures founded on pop and psychedelic art of the 1960s. Steve Kingston explains the aims of the multi-media art experience. Asked if it is really art, he says they are trying to put art across in a way that is more fun than the Mona Lisa. The work explores illusory three-dimensional visual effects. Inside the sculpture, children talk about enjoying the sound and the surprise of finding people inside the foil bags. Outside on the grass, two dancers perform inside large transparent spheres. The reporter names them as Angela Woodhouse and Karen [Hennig?]. This video was made to be shown in a news story on Anglia Television early evening news / magazine programme About Anglia.
