Car enthusiasts anticipate a fundraising rally.

The flag waves as cars driven by members of the High Performance Car Club are cleared to start at one minute intervals, beginning with laps of Snetterton racing circuit in Norfolk. After a speedy start, they commence on a 1,500 mile rally over 25 hours taking in parts of Scotland and the Midlands, with laps of four other racing circuits en route. Interviews about the non-stop challenge with the drivers of two cars, Dennis Anderson and Steve Howells. John Lyon of the High Performance Car Club says that the drivers will be observing the usual rules of the road, 60 mph on single carriageway and 70 mph on dual carriageway and motorway, then releasing their motoring speed spirit on the circuits. The drivers raised £16,000 last year and this year hope to double this to buy three minibuses for the Spastics Society.
