Scenes of Kashmir House where Amanullah Khan was arrested under the Firearms Act.
Scenes of the street around Kashmir House, a semi-detached house in Luton, where the front door was damaged during an early morning police raid. The house is the UK headquarters of the Kashmir Liberation Front which claims to have nearly 1,000 active members in the UK. Its leader Amanullah Khan was arrested and taken for questioning at Luton Police Station under the Firearms Act. The aim of the KLF is for Kashmir to be declared an independent state free from India and Pakistan. The police raid was part of a larger combined operation in which five more people were arrested in the West Midlands and Lancashire under the Prevention of Terrorism Act. The Anglia Television reporter Owen Spencer-Thomas interviews Zafar Khan of the KLF asking how far they are prepared to go to achieve their aims. This short video was made to be shown in a news story on Anglia Television early evening news / magazine programme About Anglia. Amanullah Khan was deported from the UK in 1986.
