Explaining the link between spray art and breakdancing.

In Peterborough, a breakdancer spins on his back on a floor mat to the music from a boombox. Robert Sheratt is spray painting a mural onto a wall, working from a prepared design. Anglia TV reporter Greg Barnes explains that the dance, music and colour graffiti artwork are part of the mix of the hip hop sub-culture from the USA which is already influencing the charts in the UK. Its followers are as dedicated as rockers or punks. Disc jockey Mike Allen fronts a nationally-syndicated hip hop music show for local independent radio stations. Greg Barnes asks him about the link between hip hop music and graffiti. He explains that it is all part of a lifestyle, along with the clothes (wearing a hooded sweatshirt and hi-top sneakers). More scenes of Bob Sherratt on scaffolding working on the spray mural on a hoarding rented by a company which manufactures cassette recording tapes and is running an art competition. Mr Sherratt says he believes this is an artform and he hopes to get future commissions. This video was made to be shown in a news story on Anglia Television early evening news / magazine programme About Anglia.
