UEA - Building of Village
1963 , Norwich (Norfolk)
Cat no. 2346
Construction of new accommodation at UEA.
The floral gardens of Earlham Hall, Norwich, provide the back drop for the construction of new University accommodation and teaching buildings at the University of East Anglia. Across the road from Earlham Park sits the construction site for the new University Village. Down on the camps prefabricated buildings sit amongst earth movers, workmen tarring roofs and upended tree roots. The work undertaken by R.G. Carter Ltd is seen, blueprinted, and contrasts with the peace of the 17th Century Earlham Hall which is abounded by peacocks on the lawn and on the building.
