[Food Flashes And Fuel Limericks]
1939 - 1945
Cat no. 1949
Government-sponsored short information films; part of the “Food Flash” and “Fuel Limerick” series.
A series of government-sponsored short films. These information films are straightforward in their approach containing to-the-point acting sequences, for example a demonstration of how to bone a herring, and captions such as “Use your fuel to the fullest capacity” and “Don’t waste bread”. To be viewed as part of a cinema programme, these “Fuel Limericks” and “Food Flashes” also entertain with slapstick and serio-comic scenes accompanied by tongue-in-cheek commentary and novel sound effects.
