Memorial events in Belgium to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the death of Edith Cavell.

The 50th anniversary of Edith Cavell's death is remembered in Belgium. Beneath the street sign for Rue Edith Cavell is a commemorative plaque to the British nurse shot by the Germans on 12 October 1915. Current and former nurses place sheaves of flowers at the Cavell and Depage memorial outside the École Edith Cavell. An exterior view of the Prison de Saint-Gilles (St Gilles Prison) outside Brussels, followed by interior scenes. Lady Barclay and nurses lay flowers in the cell where Edith Cavell was held prisoner.

E. Janson, Paul du Bois (the sculptor) and ambassadors from Britain and the United States. A nearby street name plaque explains that Marie Depage was a nurse in the Belgian army, who perished when the "Lusitania" was torpedoed by the Germans, 8 May 1915.
