A Dog's Devotion
c. 1926 , Southwold (Suffolk)
Cat no. 1522
A tongue-in-cheek tale of action, adventure and romance.
When a womanly woman named Millicent is forced to choose between manly man Marmaduke and cosmopolitan adventurer Jasper, the choice is clear. But when Jasper takes the news badly, he hatches a plan to kidnap Millicent. A dog of rare perspicacity named Spot raises the alarm and Marmaduke and his faithful servant pursue Jasper 'across the seas' to 'New York', catching the 'last train' and trekking through the 'desert', finally catching up with Jasper as he ties Millicent to a stake and extracts his revenge. But will Marmaduke and Spot make it in time? Can they overpower Jasper? Will Millicent be saved? And will they all live happily ever after?
