Summer celebrations in Clacton-on-Sea.

The beaches at Clacton-on-Sea are crowded with people; some swimming, others sunbathing, and many heading for the pier, with its swimming pool, helter skelter slide, wooden rollercoaster and other attractions. In the town centre, the Clacton Carnival parade is underway, with a marching band leading a float carrying Miss Clacton, Clacton's Queen for 1967. The parade continues with more marching bands, roaming entertainers and a variety of floats celebrating local businesses and community groups, including the Elise School of Dancing, Butlins Holiday Camp and the British Alsatian Association. A day of celebrations concludes with a large fireworks display.
