The day to day work on Manor Farm during the 1950s.

The first shots taken at Manor Farm, a 1000 acres farm at Little Plumstead, Norfolk, in around 1955, show two tractors pulling one-way ploughs. Another pulls a conventional plough. A horse drawn corn drill is drawn by horses 'Peggy' and 'Blossom' and operated by Arthur Andrews. A cultivator and disc harrow drawn simultaneously by a Ferguson tractor feature. A seed disc drill is filled by Arthur Andrews and drills peas. A harrow is pulled behind.The next scenes show a threshing sequence using a Ransomes drum. There are close up shots of the tackle which is worked by 12 men. Sacks lifted by hydraulic lift. The next sequence shows the haysel. Hay is collected for the cocks by fork and by a horse drawn topper, which rakes it up. The hay is carried up to the main haystack by conveyor belt. There are shots of a sweep pushed by a 1920s tractor. Men working in this sequence include Fred Capes and, driving a turner, Mr. Tipple. There are scenes of the pea harvest. A McBain pea harvester is operated by a Ferguson tractor. This is driven by Mr. Gowing, usually the farm carpenter. A machine, originally designed for silage making, is filmed harvesting peas, having been converted for the purpose. There are shots of a combine and of harvest scenes. Grain is taken away by lorry. There are shots of the dresser and of stacking the corn. The film shows two young hold ye boys, Raymond Attlow and one of the 'young Andrews' working on the harvest. At the end of the sequence there is a shot of the grain stores. The potato harvest is shown. Most of the workers here, working under a gang master, are women. A Massey Ferguson tractor turns up the potatoes with a 'hoover'. These are picked by the women and carried to a horse drawn cart. The final shots are of farm buildings, including Fresian cattle in their pens.
