Film of the late Victorian house Purdis Croft and its surrounding gardens.

Exterior shots of the house. The name of the house, Purdis Croft, is on the gate. The house itself is a late Victorian or Edwardian half-timbered house. Roses growing up the walls are tended by a woman. Large sections of the film comprise shots of the garden and close-up shots of the individual plants, including flowers, vegetables and fruit trees. A man cuts different types of marrow and they also pick redcurrants. The man pumps water from a water pump in the garden.There are shots over the heath and the couple are filmed with young boys, presumably their grandsons, in the garden. More plants are filmed in close-up, including lavender. The man mows the lawn. There are long shots of the house and more shots of the garden, showing the roses. A cat is curled up in a (presumably empty) bird bath. There are further shots of the house from different elevations. The family cycle along a country lane before there are further shots of the house and garden. These are taken at a different time of year as tulips are in flower. A group of women and the boys are filmed on the heath. The boys feed some chickens. Shots of plants include honeysuckle and roses. They pick asparagus from the garden as well as strawberries, rhubarb and potatoes. The boys pick raspberries and then play cricket on the lawn. There are shots of the surrounding countryside before further shots of the garden.
