A trip across East Anglia.

Opening shots show a windmill, horse-drawn ploughing and straw stack thatching. These are followed by scenes of Flatford Mill and Willie Lott's Cottage. The commentary mentions their link with John Constable. There are scenes of Woodbridge, including the town and the Tide Mill. Shots of Lavenham show timbered house and the Guildhall whilst shots of Kersey show the Church and ford. There are shots of Framlingham Castle and of the Ancient House in Ipswich. At Lowestoft there are shots of the beach, trawlers at the Quay and scenes showing the fish market. There are further beach scenes and shots of the Pleasure Beach at Great Yarmouth.A sequence from Norwich shows shots of the City and the Cathedral from Mousehold Heath. There is a shot of Pulls Ferry and scenes showing the traders at work on Norwich Market. There are shots of Elm Hill that include a sequence about Mr. Taylor, one of the last local weavers. He is filmed working a bobbin winder and preparing punch cards for a jacquard loom. This is seen in operation.There is a brief view of Diss showing the Mere and then of Caister Castle. A sequence of the Broads shows sailing boats and motor cruisers. The theme of reeds links the Broads views with a sequence in which a local thatcher demonstrates his craft. There are shots of a thatched Church.Scenes of Kings Lynn show the Southgate and town scenes. There are shots of the Guildhall and of the Customs House. There are shots of Bury St. Edmunds that include the Cathedral, Abbey ruins and Abbey Gate. At Brandon, a flint knapper demonstrates his craft, making square flints for building and flints for flintlock firearms. At Castle Rising, there are shots of the Castle and of the Church as well as of the Bede Houses and the Bede women, dressed in their traditional cloaks and high hats. There are views of Cambridge Colleges and the Backs, including Kings College Chapel and the Mathematical Bridge. There are shots of the village and pump at Walsingham as well as the Priory ruins. The film closes with shots of Ely Cathedral and the Porta.
