Evacuated children arriving in Devon and being billeted out.
This film shows a Southern Railways train arriving at an unidentified railway station in Devon. Children wave to the camera from the train. The party leader hands over their details to the leader of the reception committee. There is a long shot of a school building that was to serve as the reception centre. Children are seen outside the school. The bus carrying the evacuees arrives at the school. Several cars are parked outside. The children and their supervisors leave the bus and enter the school. They register and then eat a meal. A nurse helps a younger girl. Tea is served. A group of children leave with a couple. They get into a car and drive away.
