May Week on the River Cam
1. On The River: On the River Cam rowing eights are race with people watching from the bank. Folks punt under Clare Bridge. People on the bridge catch hold of the pole, leaving the punter stranded in the air until he falls into the river. Couples punt along the river and another punting student falls in. 2. Singing On The River: Punts are gathered to the side of the river. People walk along the Backs and through the colleges. A man with a collecting tin sells what appears to be programmes. Punts fill the river. They also fill up with people. There is a static shot of the programme, Singing On The River. People applaud the conductor who makes his way down to a punt and the show commences. Lights dance across the river. 3. Queens' May Ball: Marquees have been erected in the college grounds. People are walking around. A car arrives and undergraduates enter dressed in ball gowns and evening suits.
