A compilation of homes movies including family scenes at Christmas and the Aldeburgh carnival.

Family scenes, beginning with interior scenes showing a family Christmas. There are shots of the Christmas card and the decorations, the presents and the Christmas tree. Two young boys open their Christmas presents. Both have received cowboy clothes. They dress up and pose for the camera. There is a shot of the Queen on television giving her Christmas day address. The family have Christmas tea. Mother smiles shyly for the camera. They children play games whilst mother washes up, still smiling for the camera. The next shots show the boys at a funfair and then on the light railway on the seafront at Felixstowe. At Brancaster, there are shots of the salt marshes and of boats moored. The boys play on the beach and in rock pools.The next sequence shows the Aldeburgh lifeboat, the Alfred And Patience Gottwald, coming onto the beach. The crew are on board. The lifeboat is winched onto the turntable and then up the rollers. The Moot Hall can be seen in the background in some shots. The final part of this film shows scenes from an Aldeburgh carnival. A band and many floats parade along the streets. There is a Carnival Queen, several people in fancy dress and a float depicting The Old Woman Who Lived In A Shoe. A placard at the back reads, 3 cheers for the pill. There are pony rides for the children and a Punch and Judy show has set up on the beach. There is a brief shot of paddle boats on a boating lake. The film ends with a shot of the lighthouse against a darkening sky.
